Membership Services & Benefits
As a member of CARFAC Saskatchewan, you have access to a number of services, events and programs in our province and across Canada. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact a CARFAC office - we would be pleased to help.
Benefits of Membership:
With a CARFAC SASK membership card, members have access to discounts at a number of retail stores and businesses, including artist supply stores, as well as free or reduced admissions to galleries and museums both nationally and abroad.
CARFAC SASK represents the needs of visual artists through an active and responsive advocacy program to various levels of government and to other agencies whose activities affect the artists in order to promote the well-being of the individual visual artist and enhance the development of visual artists in Saskatchewan. Locally CARFAC SASK represents the rights of the artist in civic issues and activities. CARFAC SASK maintains a liaison with the Saskatchewan Arts Board and SaskCulture, and is an active member of the Canadian Conference of the Arts, the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, and the Saskatchewan Cultural Industries Development Council.
All advisory services are available to members free of charge. These services include legal and financial advice from professionals. Advisory services provide free advice and information only.
CARFAC SASK offers the service of representing members and negotiating on their behalf with other parties in terms of contracts and business arrangements.
CARFAC SASK members receive either by mail or email (based on preference) a published newsletter, which include artistles on national and regional issues, CARFAC SASK workshops and events, artist profiles, international stories and advocacy issues. The newsletter also includes calls for submission, upcoming cultural events and exhibitions, educational and professional opportunities, artist residencies, grants, member news and artist to artist notices.
It is important that all members let us know their e-mail address! CARFAC SASK periodically sends out e-mail bulletins and alerts to our membership. E-mail bulletins contain time-sensitive items not reported in the newsletter.
Both CARFAC SASK offces in Regina and Saskatoon have resource centres, which contain a vast selection of books, periodicals and CD-ROMS, current art magazines and DVDs of interest to visual artists. These may be borrowed by CARFAC SASK members. Rural members can have resource materials mailed to them.
Computer/ Media Centres
CARFAC SASK offices offer members the use of a computer station for internet and email access. Access is also provided for usage of Lynda.com, an online resource for software training and a tutorial video library.
A newly created media centre is available at the Regina office, where members have access to Adobe Creative Suite 6, to use the most recent versions of Photoshop and InDesign.
CARFAC Sask offices offer publications, books, studio aprons, caps, T shirts, etc. at special reduced prices for members. Also available at our online store.
CARFAC SASK rents art for the offices from its members on an ongoing bases. An honorarium is paid to the artist. Contact the CARFAC Sask offices for details of this program.
Members have access to CARFAC SASK's light kit and digital projector: $15 for up to 4 nights/ $25 for 7 nights with a $100 refundable deposit. Prior arrangements must be made with staff during office hours.

Toll-free telephone access
CARFAC SASK members have access to toll-free telephone numbers to contact our offices. These toll-free numbers are accessible in the Members Area of the website (login required) and are also printed on the back of your membership card. Please do not give these numbers out publicly; they are only for the use of members.
