CARFAC (Canadian Artists' Representation/le front des artistes canadiens) is a national, nonprofit organization of professional visual artists whose objectives are to improve the status of visual artists through research and public education and to promote the visual arts. No one is more qualified to speak on behalf of artists than artists themselves. CARFAC founder, Jack Chambers CARFAC National has achieved endorsement of the principle of fair compensation through payment of fees to artists when their works are shown in public galleries.
Membership in CARFAC SASK includes membership in CARFAC National.
The CARFAC Recommended Minimum Copyright Fee Schedule is established in principle and practice. CARFAC National has been instrumental in achieving fair income tax treatment for artists and in the process of copyright reform.
